Friendly, courteous staff will help you find what you need or leave you to wander as you wish. With so many treasures to consider, I chose to wander and ended up going to the store more than once on my July 2017 visit to Cordova. If you're a creative person, this place will be a favorite. With housewares, pottery, bags, chocolates, tea, interesting jewelry, and supplies for beading, papercrafts, and fiber arts, The Net Loft appeals to a wide range of folks. Dotty Widman, the shop owner, carries an amazing selection of knitting supplies and yarn, including many colors that are dyed specifically to honor the colors and scenes of this stunning corner of Alaska. As a print in the stop says, Cordova is intentionally off the beaten path, but worth the journey--the same could be said of The Net Loft. I hope to return and, in the meantime, will order online to support this terrific little shop. I walked in and was overwhelmed! The shop has lots of interesting corners of beautiful gifts but then I saw the hand dyed yarns! The staff is warm, friendly and very knowledgable. The hardest thing is making choices! If only this shop were near me in Massachusetts. It is far better than any yarn shop I have visited in a long time. Going back today for more :) The Net Loft is the real "Happiest Place on Earth!" This place is wall to wall knitting, spinning, felting, weaving paradise. Do not come to Cordova and miss it! I have only been in the place once, but I saw enough that I am interested in checking it out more without my little children along. It is crowded inside, but it is packed with pretty goodies. There are many racks of yarn. There are also scrap-booking supplies. The items my little son was most interested in; fancy candy, among them are chocolate covered berries. The lighting in the place is great! love the net loft, great classes, and you can always find something special or a great gift.
